An outstanding sire of international showjumpers, and particularly of mares. In Holland, he sired 200 approved mares. In Europe, when breeders look at a stallion’s potential, they look at the mare line first, because the mare is at least 60% of the stallion. Rigoletto is damsire of Saluut Second, one of the greatest grand prix jumpers in History. In 1991 alone, Saluut Second won grand prixs in the US totaling over $305,000 in prize money. Rigoletto is also damsire of the Holsteiner, Lavendel 48 (by Landgraf I), another great jumper with tremendous winnings in the US. The Rigoletto daughter Santa Monica was an international jumper. Daughter Queen of Diamonds won the Rome Grand Prix in 1989.
His blood is sought after by all the WB breed registries of Europe. It is from Ramzes that the 2 time 1988 and 1992 Individual Gold Medal Dressage Champion Rembrandt (WEST) descends. Grandson Ramiro (by Raimond, HOL) is the sire of 1992 Individual Olympic Silver Showjumping medal winner, Ratina Z. Though he has been standing for many years in Holland and Belgium, Ramiro has at least 50 approved sons in Germany alone. The Ramzes son Remus won the 1964 Individual Olympic Silver Medal, Team Gold in Dressage for Germany. In 1966 the Ramzes son Mariano won the Gold Medal at the World Dressage Championships and son Remus won the Silver Medal.
Idee by Logarithmus - sire of 7 approved Holsteiner stallions, he was from the original, foundation Holsteiner line of ‘Ethelbert’. Foaled in 1874, and imported from England, Ethelbert was by the TB, St Fagens xx and out of a Yorkshire Coach mare. The Logarithmus son Gaugraf sired 15 approved sons. This line is now primarily in the Holsteiner mare, or ‘stamm’ lines.
