Classic Annette (Val de Lorne x Classic Annie/Dom Aleric) 1991 Bay Thoroughbred Mare
The first three dams were iron maidens on the track with many starts. Clem won the Washington International at a mile and a half as well the Woodward, and hr placed in the Suburban H and the Metropolitan Mile. Won on both turf and dirt.
Dom Alaric goes to both Sassafras and Orsini, the German TB star stallion. Orsini is found in numerous FEI level sporthorses from many different registries. He doesn't seem to be found in Holstein; and is found in Hannover only as damsire of Kronenkranich, who is the sire of two of Herr Butts' event broodmares, but is also found through many other Hannoverian descendants. There are Orsini descendants in most of the other registries. He still seems to be filtering into WB populations mostly through TB descendants by way of the F1s.
Sassafras is Matchem line through Barcaldine (the European line that is now probably extinct), was a good chasing sire, and has quite a few FEI level sporthorses in Europe. He's the damsire of Bold Indian xx, who was sent to Germany and has ended up in Hannoverians and Holsteiners. He's the damsire of a Holsteiner stallion named Colbert who sired Eurocommerce New Orleans, Gerco Shroeder's show jumper, a Hannoverian show jumper and a KWPN GP dressage mare. Bold Indian was the sire of Kai Ruder's Sydney Olympics event horse. A Sassafras son is damsire of a 2010 sBs WEG eventer. Again as damsire, a Sassafras grandson by Northfields was ridden at the 3* level by eventer Andrew Hoy. Again as damsire, a grandson has two BWP jumpers, both of whom went to the European Championships for Juniors and Young Riders. One of the dams went to Lanaken in 1997 and finished 9th.
