Emmanuelle d'Avalon (Edelweiss de Bonce x Dixieland Jazz d'Avalon/Don Principe) 2014 Zweibucker Bay Mare
This filly epitomizes elegance. A bright red bay coat on a leggy, well conformed body with a beautifully sculpted head, Emmanuelle embodies perfection.
Her sire, Edelweiss de Bonce, was Catherine Haddad-Staller's Grand Prix Dressage mount, despite having a pedigree that reads like the Who's Who of jumper breeding. Catherine states that he was the easiest horse she ever trained to Grand Prix in dressage. A large framed, leggy, modern horse, with a kind, "old soul" temperament, Edelweiss is the quintessential grand old gentleman. Beautiful, talented and kind are all adjectives that have been used to depict him but fall short of truly describing him.
Emmanuelle's dam, Dixieland Jazz d'Avalon is by the Grand Prix Dressage stallion, Don Principe, who has proven himself both as a top FEI competitor, as well as a wonderful production sire. Dixie is out of the mare, Mata Hari, a Mannhattan daughter out of an Ideal mare. Mata Hari is also the dam of the outstanding German Riding Pony, Belafonte d'Avalon. Emmanuelle's dam line is truly top notch with some strongly competitive bloodlines.
With her pedigree and conformation, Emmanuelle should prove to be a top competitive performer, but with the added bonus of having an incredible pedigree enviable to any breeding program.
